Milford Sound – it sounds like the stage name of the lead singer of Mumford and Sons went solo, and it probably gathers at least as many spectators as he would: 1 million annually.
We left the glaciered rainforest in search for sun and we found it on the road to Wanaka. It was one of the most incredible drives so far.
Or as we would come to know it: ‘Just Franz Josef’ where we never got as high up as our hopes did.

Ever since hobbiton- where I met a representive of the Dutch Embassy who for anonimity’s sake we’ll call Tutanchamon- we had been looking forward to a night in Wellington. The city was said to be beautiful and the beer was said to be Belgian.
We can hear you all thinking: “Sure, the country is beautiful but what about the whole living-on-four-wheels experience?” Well, our stops at Whaganui and Foxton beach were perfect to highlight just that.
When we arrived at our campsite in Whakapapa, so too had the freezing temperatures. With 0° at night we almost felt like we were home again – But then with beautiful snowy mountains and without the ‘having to go to work tomorrow’.
Apart from the roadkill and rock formations, we have also made some shrewd observations concerning the social demographics of the tourist population. We’ve been here for nearly ten days, so we know what we are talking about.
